The Zoning plan is the basic generally binding document for coordinating the development of the territory. It serves mainly as an informational basis for those interested in building in Prague. The drawings of the Zoning plan are made available through an application, the data are also provided to users in raster and vector form. You can look not only at the current Zoning plan, but also at other related layers such as building closures. Archival drawings of Zoning plans are also available.
The current Zoning plan came into force in 1999. It consists of a text and a drawing part.
Data update
The data of the Zoning plan are continuously updated in connection with the approval of Zoning plan amendments. The update is carried out four times a year, whereby the entire Zoning plan, including the map applications, is updated semi-annually, and in the meantime, a so-called small update is carried out quarterly, where only vector data are modified. The update includes changes approved by Prague City Council meetings in a given quarter/semester.
Incorporation of changes into the valid Zoning plan begins after publication of the approved changes for the given period on the website of the preparer and takes, depending on the number of approved changes, usually 1.5 - 2 months, including the deadlines for entry into force.
A selection of the updated data is then exposed on the Geoportal as open data, or the map applications are updated. The valid version, including the text and graphic part, regulations and a list of publicly useful buildings is always displayed on the website of the organizer.
Provision of Data
All data of the land-use plan are provided in raster and vector form.
Vector formats
The Zoning plan data are provided in SHP and DXF formats as part of the open data. In the electronic issue it is also possible to obtain data in other formats (DGN, DWG, VTX). When outputting to formats other than ESRI shapefile, database data related to data objects (attribute data) are not exported.
Vector data structure
The vector data are arranged into six basic groups + a semi-topographic base:
- DMP - positional and administrative subdivision
- DOP - transport infrastructure
- LIM - limits of land use
- PVP - zoning plan, functional use of the territory
- TV - technical infrastructure and water supply
- VPS - public utility structures
- ZEL - greenery, encroachments and landscape conservation
Raster formats
The individual raster tiles correspond to the individual map sheets of the Zoning plan drawings. There are 13 basic map sheets in the whole, on which the individual parts of the territory of the capital city are located.
Raster formats are generated in the following data types:
- TIFF - 600 dpi
- PDF/A - 300 dpi
- PNG - 300 dpi
TIFF formats are subsequently used for the creation of raster map services used in applications for the presentation of the drawing part of the Zoning plan.
