Spatial analytical documents (SAD) are a comprehensive overview of data and analyses about the capital city. The data were obtained by continuous monitoring of the metropolitan area, data collection from mandatory and optional data providers and extensive analytical work of IPR Prague. Spatial analytical documents have been prepared since 2007 by the Prague Institute of Planning and Development and are divided into SAD of the municipality and SAD of the region.
SAD provides information on the status and development of the territory and determines its values, limits of land use, intentions, and identifies problems to be solved within the framework of spatial planning documentation. For example, SAD provide comprehensive information on public spaces, the traffic situation in the metropolis, the current state of land use, information on the city's supply of energy resources, and also describe the state of landscape infrastructure and preparedness for climate change.
Data access
SADs are accessible through an interactive web presentation - the SAD Portal. They have a text and a graphic section; besides texts, they include maps (figures), graphs, data tables, analyses and drawings. All of these sections are contained in the SAD Atlas, the Catalog of Metrics and Indicators, or the Catalog of Municipal Districts. The web presentation includes the possibility to download the complete documentation in pdf format.
Data sources
SADs are based on about 300 datasets, most of which are published in the form of map services and used in the SAD Atlas. The list of datasets and information about them (metadata) are published on the Geoportal of Prague.
The source of most datasets is data from the territory data providers. IPR Prague has concluded a contract with selected providers for cooperation in the mutual provision of data and data outputs (about 20 providers), the frequency of updates is usually 4 times a year. Other data providers (about 120 providers) are regularly (once every 2 years, once every 4 years) contacted by letter with a request to confirm the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the data used before each planned update of the SAD. The provider confirms the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the territory data in the territory data passport.
In the case of data updates, the provider sends the most up-to-date versions of the datasets with the passport. Selected providers provide data for the SAD on their portals in the form of pre-prepared data packages in standardized formats broken down by territorial units, from where the SAD preparer can download them in a secure manner. The frequency of updates is quite variable for these providers.
Provision of data
Data layers under the responsibility of IPR Prague, the Prague City Hall and urban organizations are provided in the form of open data, data owned by 3rd parties are available exclusively to the public administration.
