The first black and white photographs of the town center were taken in 1938, but other historical orthophotos from the war and post-war years are also available. Black and white aerial photographs from the end of World War II from archival reconnaissance aerial photographs taken by the Allies in the spring of 1945 have a special place in our archives. Other historical series were obtained from archival images of the Military Geographical and Hydrometeorological Office in Dobruška. Before the Velvet Revolution, aerial photography was of great strategic importance in military planning, but you can clearly observe the dynamic transformation of the outskirts of Prague and some parts of the city center in it.
In 1996, black and white photography of Prague was carried out in the winter season, which was used for the later creation of a digital terrain model.
