Two noise maps show the noise situation on the territory of the capital city of Prague.
Noise Map of Prague 2016
This is a computational noise map of surface traffic, prepared by Ekola group, spol. s.r.o. The calculation is performed for individual noise sources (road, tram and rail traffic), for the descriptors LAeq16h for daytime (6-22 h) and LAeq8h for nighttime (22-6 h).
Strategic Noise Map 2022
On the basis of Directive 2002/49/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council relating to the assessment and management of environmental noise (Environmental Noise Directive, END), the Czech Republic as an EU Member State is obliged to produce Strategic Noise Maps (SNM) and subsequent action plans. The basis for the preparation of the SNM are noise sources from road, rail, air transport and industrial sources. Noise levels are presented in bands of 5dB for the day-evening-night (Ldvn) and night (Ln) descriptor. The Action Plans contain proposals for noise reduction measures in the most congested areas identified through the SNM. The service shows the quiet areas defined by the 2016 Action Plan and the noise protection elements updated by IPR Prague in 2019. The map was prepared for the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic by the Health Institute based in Ostrava.
The map is also supplemented by a depiction of Ruzyne Airport Noise Protection Zones (Prague Airport, 2023), which define the rules for construction within these zones.
